I need some help. I can bring up Topaz Denoise AI, I can downbload a photo into the program, but after, maybe 2 to 3 seconds, the Topaz program shuts down. Any idea(s) as to why it is doing that?
Could be several reasons. 1. It does not have enough usable memory to operate the program due to: too many other programs open at the same time. Low storage capacity in your RAM. 8MB of RAM would be absolute minimum but with other things going, you probably need more than that. Your computer storage is full and you need to transfer files to an external storage device.

It may be that your computer doesn't have the requirements to run that program. I have an older HP Laptop with 4G of Ram. and the program (Topaz Denoise AI, which I have and use) will hardly run, and sometimes "SHUT DOWN".
On my new HP Laptop, (Loaded, with 32G of Ram) the program runs smoothly, and is very fast.
Have you checked this?
Thanks,
Boone.
I would un-install the Topaz De-noise app, then reboot the computer and go to Topaz site and download the app again. That might correct your issues.
Hard to tell what is happening...but here is one more thing to try.
Sometimes a program will close...but stay open in task manager...thereby setting up a conflict when you open the same program up again.
Make sure Topaz is closed...open up task manager...if you see anything Topaz... right-click on it and hit end task.
Close it and try to open Topaz again.

Low memory. This program is a mem hog.

I had similar problems and found that the default for the graphics card was set to All Processors (experimental). Under preferences, this is called AI Processor. I reset to point to my graphics card and this has solved the problem.
I've been running DeNoise since before AI came along. Following the last updates to DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI my computer has been doing the same thing. Since it doesn't result in loss of data and it's an intermittent problem and my experience with Topaz tech support has been less than stellar I'll wait for the next updates before I get involved with them again.

I also had the same problem with Topaz DeNoise AI after the latest update, an immediate crash as soon as a file is loaded. I also sent a trouble report to Topaz Products. I have plenty of computer CPU, RAM, etc. I even completely deleted the entire program, logged into Topaz Products, and downloaded the entire program again with the same result. I even "Restarted" and "Shut Down and again "Started" the computer again.
Since I haven't heard back from Topaz regarding this problem I too will wait for the next Denoise AI update. This is not good for their business.
I also updated Topaz Sharpen AI yesterday without any impact. Topaz Sharpen AI (latest version) now works better/faster than ever.
It is the same for the rest of my Topaz Suite of programs
Go figure???

I had that problem on gigapixel on my 14 year old PC. 16 gigs of ram didn't help. the solution was to change the preference setting to use my 8 gig video card. works fast now.

~ UPDATE ~
This morning after reading everyone's opinions/reply, here is what worked for me. . . .
1. Go to "File" (upper left corner of opened program)
2. select "Preferences"
3. Go down to the "Performance" section at the bottom of this panel
4. 3. Go all the way to the bottom of this panel and select "Allowed Memory Consumption"
5. Set "Allowed Memory Consumption" to "High".
After doing this Topaz DeNoise processed several 10 Mb JPG files (in 10 seconds) and one 71 MB CR2 file (in 16 seconds).

RAM. Your problem sounds like a memory issue.
TOPAZ Denoise AI is a huge program.
It's possible that your device is either full or you have other apps running in the background.
In the FIRST instance, you need to clean the drive to make space (get rid of stuff you don't need, and move the rest to an external drive or cloud).
In the SECOND instance, uninstall Topaz Denoise AI, reboot, reinstall Denoise AI (the rebooting will guarantee that all other "closed" apps are not running in the background).
Last option, get a new device with large storage and try to use it exclusively for imaging (RAW photo files and TIFF are huge).
Let's hope for the best.
