Outdoors shoot with family

I have an upcoming outdoors with a family with a lot of young active children. I'm wondering mostly about the lighting but I'll take any tips of any type including how to handle short attention spans, etc.

Back to lighting. I have mostly shot individuals and usually shoot with a reflector held by an assistant. More recently, I have shot with a fill flash on bracket and got a look that I and others liked. I am tempted to make this more complicated than I need to with getting the flash further off camera and using light modifiers that would require studio flash power. But I know I need to keep it simple and work quickly. What's your favorite outdoors lighting technique that works in any weather?

If you're going to use a reflector and fill flash etc your active kids are different then mine. I try for the golden hours or if not at least in a shady area. I don't use manual, I use the sport .... whatever it's called, that's what I use. Good Luck Post'em when you get 'em

Thanks. I have usually gone for the golden hour. Not sure if the schedule will allow this time. I guess I'm looking for ways to deal with whatever I get at an arbitrary time. Most recently, I used a flash with a very small softbox and stumbled on to good results. I think I just need to experiment and practice.

I am surprised you didn't get more one this. Go to the top of the page and in blue print you will find 'SEARCH' click on it and ask your question very briefly. You should get a pretty good response.
