I have a Hasselblad 500C camera that has Carl Zeiss lenses. I have Nikon cameras D800 , D600. My question is do they make an adapter so that I can use the Hasselblad lens on my Nikons? If they do is it worth trying to use them - will pictures look that much better? Pros - cons

If you have good Nikon lenses on the D800/600 then it's not worth the effort.

Typically, for a DSLR, adapting non-native lenses is a waste of time, particularly if the camera cannot electronically control the aperture, the focus and the metering. Adapting to a mirrorless body is rather worthwhile, whether stuck in manual focus or the adapter supports AF.

From the product description on Amazon, with emphasis:

The Kenko High Quality (Made in Japan) Hasselblad Lens to Nikon F mount adapter: This lens mount adapter allows Hasselblad lens to fit onto a Nikon F mount adapter. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body.

Maybe you'll share some of your relevant examples and specific experiences as encouragement?

Yes they do! In fact they made them many years ago but however those expensive Zeiss lenses for the Hasselblad won't be as sharp as the Nikkor. Why??? because they were designed for much larger format.

I assume that the OP knows enough to read and understand the limitations of using the adapted lenses.

True, but this is an open forum.
There may be others reading this who can learn from this post.

Yes, other photographers might then be encouraged (or discouraged) by relevant example images, and lens models, DSLR models, and specific experiences, maybe more so than basic demonstrations of using google to find an adapter ....

Maybe you assume wrong.
I’ve used the exact items.
There are unpleasant surprises.

I will PM the OP.

And why not share to the entire web your relevant example images, and lens model(s), DSLR model(s), and specific experiences?

Thank You All for your comments. I think it is better to ask for advice first, before I go and jump off a deep end into the abyss . No , I don't need to use these on my cameras, I have probably too many lenses ( if you ask my wife, lol ) . I still shoot the Hasselblad, but with film, it is a slower to see the results. Thank You all for your help and comments.

Yes, they make an adapter. It will be up to your skill as to getting better images.
