I love these beautiful shots of sneaky snake, Jimmy! The dls are great...I prefer the snakes over the voles any day if they are not
Poisonous! You had some good lighting.
Thank you merrytexan. Lighting was early morning plus flash. I didn't want to jack up the ISO too much on my CanonT5i.
A neighbor's cat was good at killing the voles in my yard. After, the family and cat moved away, the voles returned. I planted ornamental tobacco near the vole burrows. Soon, there were lots of dead voles laying on the ground. The roots are also toxic. I also stuffed the tobacco leaves down a hole into a gopher burrow. I poured ammonia down the hole. Soon a drunken gopher climbed out of the hole, ran away, and never returned. The many tobacco plants are beautiful and toxic. Beware of the sticky leaves. Dead bugs will soon coat the leaves.

A beautiful specimen - but he's welcome to stay there🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Nice Rat Snake.....yes I see the pollen.
What a handsome snake, and your portraits are superb.
Love those resident blacksnakes and all the good they do for us. I especially like the last two photos. Very nice.

Nice shots. Good snake, bad snake, I hate them all. That's just me.
Just wondering how that came about.
