Our now 38 yr old son also struggled with formal education. We hiked for 1 1/2 in the mornings before school to help him sit at a desk all day. He started schooling at home at the age of 9, started college at 14 and now has a Master's degree in accounting and bought his own accounting firm last year. Our daughter wanted to go to traditional school but changed her mind when she realized that even if she finished all her work she had to stay in class until 3:00. She started college at 15, got her Bachelor's in nursing and works in an OR. It allows you to customize their education for their specific interests.

Very interesting and thank you for posting. I turned 64 before I found out that my brain is wired a bit differently.
This quote means a lot to me.
Ansel Adams: “In School…Each day was a severe test for me, sitting in a dreadful classroom while the sun and fog played outside. Second line of my web page Bio: From a very young age my mind was centred on outdoor activities. I liked school yards but hated school rooms!
