2021 is, indeed, a year of changes. The last refurb body I bought directly from Canon was a 70D a handful of years ago. I got the small "quick start" manual. I called Canon customer service and asked for a printed full manual and was sent one. Did the same for a G16 bought new later. Unfortunately, it's a service they no longer provide since 2019 (?), maybe earlier. Truth be told, except to flick through the pages, I never opened the paper manuals. It's almost always easier and more convenient to have the pdfs on my desktop, then search for the function.

I have purchased a number of refurbished items from B&H and have been very happy. Once bought a refurbished Nikon D7200 but it had 27,000 shutter actuations which was a bit too many to make me happy. I returned it with no problem (they even paid return postage) and had them send a refurbished D7500. When I arrived I took a shot and uploaded to camera shutter count and it was the first image and it was the first shot taken on the camera. I am assuming it was an overstock return or something like that. In any event I would not be able to tell the difference between what they sent and brand new. I have purchased several other refurbished Nikons from them and the shutter count is usually somewhere around 100. Can't give much advice on Canon products. I know they are great however.

Answering your first question, I have purchased both used camera and used lenses from B&H after a burglary that took everything. Both were perfect and still in use. I even was contacted by B&H after the sale to make sure I was happy with the purchases. Don't know if they still do that, though.

I use the PDF manuals and not the paper manuals not because I don't like the paper manuals but rather I value them so much. I have the PDF because I want to read the manuals before I buy the camera and I never open the paper manuals because I am afraid of making them dirty.
