We've had an exceptionally bad year for diving. Wind, waves, and a persistent plankton bloom have wiped out most of our dive days this year. We had one nice dive last weekend, but we've resorted to making several dives under our boat in the marina. The bottom is very soft, thick silt. Any movement creates a cloud that wipes out any chance of getting photos.
Using an external diopter and a 105mm lens, we try to keep our subjects within one to four inches from the port, eliminating as much dirty water as possible in the frame. Photoshop removes any particulates that hinder the photo. Here are a few that I've managed to save this year.
You got some beautiful shots in spite of the conditions! Nice work!
Love the Navanax sp. Your description of the water reminds me of why I disliked diving in a marina, but that is where you find the best stuff.
I like that you were able to get in the water and rewarded with some nice shots.
Hi Phil: All great nudis, maybe the Cadlina needs a hair more focus. Are they from So Cal or Brit Columbia?
