Has anyone purchased an adapter to mount a smart
phone onto a tripod? Any recommendations on what
brand has worked for you?
Thanks!!

I simply bought a cheap $3 selfie stick, removed the metal smartphone holder from the stick and screwed it onto my tripod. The screw mount is the exact same size. Fits perfectly and does the job. As the smartphone doesn't have much weight, I'm not really concerned about the holder not being strong enough. And I keep the selfie stick as a practical monopod for my smartphone when the situation calls for it.

I have been using this one for several years. Solid build and adjustable.

I have a Grip & Shoot, which works great for phones. It sells for $99. I would like to sell for $70 plus shipping in Cont USA.
Check it out. https://www.gripandshoot.com/

**Our Smart Grip takes your iPhone media to the next level. ANY size iPhone/case can be quickly inserted providing instant comfort and stability. Wireless buttons now provide you with full one-handed control without ever having to touch your screen. Squeeze the trigger to capture a photo or Start/Stop a video. Use the +/- buttons to Zoom, Control Exposure, Switch Cameras, or anything you'd like! They are completely customizable.

Remove the bottom of the grip to utilize the Removable Stand. Mount your phone anywhere or use it to connect to a tripod. The remainder of the Grip now serves as a remote to control your device over 100ft away!***

The Peak Design travel tripod comes with a nice smartphone holder... haven't ever used it but it's there if I want.

This has been a very effective mount for me, very well built and solid: Cosmo Phone Holder, Selfie, Hands-Free, scanning for Copy Stands and Other Photography Applications # CPH29, Technically designed/intended for a copy stand, it has a 1/4-20 mount so fits tripods. And at less than $11 a good value;

I purchased one on Ebay a couple of months ago for about $12.00 or so. I don't know the brand, but it does both vertical and horizontal wit the standard quarter 20 standard tripod mount which is all you would need.

Sorry no brand name on it at all.
