Would like service for my Lumix G9

I send my Canons to Canon, once a year for a cleaning and updates. Does Panasonic provide this service for their cameras? I LOVE MY G9 !!! And it needs a good cleaning and updates. I looked on the websites and could not find anything - but perhaps I missed it. Anyone know ? THANKS for your positive responses

Hi - as a dedicated Lumix user (13 years, and now GX8 and G "X" lenses) I am wondering what you consider to be "a good cleaning and updates"? It is a straightforward matter to update Lumix firmware, and I update only if the update concerns my particular equipment - eg, I won't update lens firmware for a lens I do not have. The sensors are self cleaning at a push of a button, and so far that has been all that is required. In those thirteen years I have never needed a repair or servicing, and my cameras have accompanied me through north and south Europe and north Africa. The G9 is worth loving, but it's a tough bit of gear, as is my GX8. Happy shooting, stay safe, Del.

Agree...Panasonic cameras I have never seem to need a cleaning and are a lot easier to maintain than my Nikons.

Ok - that is good to know. I am Horse Show photographer - so my camera is outside all day in the rain, dirt, dust etc.. I just assumed it needed to be cleaned for maintenance. I send my Canon's in once a year and perhaps that is not necessary either.

Yes - your cameras are exposed to more extended extreme conditions than are mine. Perhaps you know best.

Canon just offers this great maintenance service - You send it in, they clean it, check everything, and do the updates. I was just hoping Lumix offered the same thing. My poor G9 got really rained on recently, so I was just wanting to give it a "spa day" ha ha ha THANKS for the info

They have a two-tier pro service. You pay for the top tier; bottom tier is free.

In 2018 I sent an FZ300 in for warranty repair - the camera would turn on but the sensor would not "see" anything. Lumix repair was in McAllen, Texas.

Repaired and returned in 3-4 weeks; no problems since. My only complaint was determining repair status. Although I had been told I would be updated on status, I never was. Would have to call an operator who would check a database: "waiting for tech", "waiting for tech", "completed - returned on date". No explanation of what was problem/replaced (I would assume sensor).

I understand not cost effective to have technician tied up answering customer questions, but lack of info/progress frustrating. Having said that, totally satisfied with repair.
