Travel? It seems some of our Republican legislators need to go no further than the House floor to demonstrate their stupidity and lack of caring for others!

As an old computer programmer/analyst/developer/project-etc. we called it PEBCAK, between chair and keyboard.

Interesting lot of comments on here about a pandemic and our government's reaction to it by destroying the economy of our country. As a fireman I responded to wrecks and fires for the whole episode taking whatever precautions I could take, as did all other first responders including nurses and doctors and garbage collectors and truck drivers! Lord help some simpleton who makes an issue of my wanting to go out West here two weeks from now. And yes, I understand that the democrats have now given us their sacred permission to be out and around but I've been out and around for the past year. I wore a mask where it was required but didn't wear one most of the time and now the King Fauci has finally admitted that it was a farce from day one. Because of his bullshit I hope you understand that people have been arrested, assaulted and even killed for daring to not wear one so who, WHO bears responsibility for that??

What is the term used to describe the pathological need to travel while a pandemic is on ?
Or do we need a new word for this ?

"Essential Worker" is the correct term! It refers to the hundreds of thousands of people who drive trucks, operate trains, and crew aircraft needed to deliver food, toilet paper, medical equipment, medical supplies and personal protective equipment to the millions of us who rely upon it to survive.

The OP specifically said "Pathological" need.

----------------
pathological
[paθəˈlɒdʒɪk(ə)l]
ADJECTIVE
relating to pathology.
"the interpretation of pathological studies"
involving or caused by a physical or mental disease.
"glands with a pathological abnormality"
synonyms:
morbid · diseased
informal
compulsive; obsessive.
----------------

This was not about people who need to be out because they have the business to be out.

The question was is there a need for a new word to call these *&^%! who should not be outside at all.

Wow, its hard to imagine the level of indoctrination some are under.
Perhaps endorsing killing the unborn will ease their hypocritical minds.....

Immune may mean one do not get sick but it does not mean one do not spread the disease.

Immune people are the worst kind to have around as they can be active carriers that never knew they are spreading the bad news.

How long will this pandemic last? As long as we have people who are willing to spread it around by not protecting themselves and those around them.

Supply actual data that confirms that for covid. Not "liberal science", but actual provable non-hysterical non-political verifiable data. The "worst kind" are those who pander emotion over facts. They are the true epidemic of modern times.

Where is the science to support you statement? Immunity by prior illness or vaccination means you don’t get the disease so how could you spread a disease you don’t have. This is a virus, not a bacteria. If what you are saying was true we could never go without masks. We would never bother being vaccinated because it wouldn’t solve the problem. We would insist people with antibodies would still need to be vaccinated. There is a point where we’ll have to make a decision to come out from under the bed.

There is another one I have used when I was working full time (I retired in 2008).

I was Chief Engineer at a group of radio stations. I'd get called into a studio to fix a problem. Once it was fixed, the guy would ask, "What was wrong with it?".

I'd tell him, "It was just a PEBCAC error".

PEBCAC ERROR: Problem Exists Between Chair And Computer.

They never knew what either response meant ;)

PEBCAC is commonly used in the computer help desk world, too.

Wow what a bunch of shocking responses. The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave seems to have become The Land of the Locked Down and the Home of the Terrified. If you did a Risk Assessment on drinking tap water or driving you would stay locked in your shelters and die in two or three days from dehydration.

Get a shot or not, sit down in you favorite chair and try to remember all the good times you used to have. Then go out and do what you used to do.
