I've been part of this forum for several years and I've never submitted any birds. Actually I would never shoot birds, so I thought I would try; here is a couple that are Ok for my first shoot through our picture window. Next time I will clean the window properly. I think this bird is a house wren, but I'm not sure, maybe I can get a little on ID.

NIce first bird post. It's a Finch, though, not a wren.

Good first try. Your bird is a male house finch. You might increase the exposure a bit to bring him out of the shadow.

Nice start. Birds can be challenging. That's for sure. I find light is important to capture details and get good, clear focus on the an eye. I also think it is a House Finch rather than a Purple Finch. Mostly because the wings don't have color and there is a bit of brown on its cheek. However, I am no expert.
