While I like the sharpness of the cat and its expression I would have composed the photo with the cat looking across the photo in that direction. I mean I would have moved the cat over to the left side of the photo since it is looking to the right.

Good point. Basic composition issue.

Same here, and a touch more exposure.

The kitten is very cute (aren't they all) and I love the light on its face. The pose is nice and I agree that having him more to the left would be better composition. Regardless, I love the shot.
Great capture, excellent light, but the cat on the left side would have made the composition stronger.

I guess I must be way out in left feel, when I look at that photo I see a young animal looking at something it doesn't understand yet. Composition was the last thing on my mind. REJ.
Composition should be the first thing in your mind followed by exposure, assuming you have the time. I believe in having an image to not having an image at all.
I am in agreement with others, moving the kitten to the left would have been a better photograph.
Composition has rules but it does not mean they have to be followed. Some elements of the subject are at times very effective when placed near the borders.
As if you had a choice - cats do what they want when they want. Nonetheless, a little more exposure.
Love the light and color.
