Do any of you use OBS for doing video? I've seen a few videos about it on YouTube, and it looks great. It's open-source and free, and it can do almost everything you would want to do with a video program.

I’ve used it along with digiCam control to use my Z7 as a webcam.

Been using it over a year to record church service during Covid. I have 3 cheap ptz camera and feed an overhead video screen and record to for YouTube. Actually works pretty well.

Using a Beringer X-Touch mdi controller as a switcher.

We have been using it since Covid to broadcast services from my synagogue. It has served us very well.

Hi Jerry,

We've been using it WITH Zoom for our fly-tying demonstrations and classes that we also stream live to Facebook. It does a great job considering the "amazing price" (free). It handles 3 cameras, multiple still-picture illustrations, text slides, and PowerPoint presentations. The program's hotkey function allows for instant changes from camera to camera and camera to slides/PP, etc. It does a great job but see the next paragraph...

We found "handling" all the stuff we get from it/through OBS comes at an unexpected price as our standard Windows 10 laptop couldn't handle the information flow from OBS to Zoom. We ended up getting a gaming laptop and that handles everything we can push at it and more. Take care & ...

This isn’t video production software. It’s streaming software.
