My husband is active duty Air Force currently in Honduras for one year. His birthday is coming up on Nov 8th. I am wanting to make a video using pictures of family, concert tickets, special items etc....
I want it to be creative...
Is there a free software install that I can do this with?
Or a program you recommend?
Any info is much appreciated?
My time is limited as I have to have it in the mail by Oct 25th.
We have known each other 16 yrs. We practically grew up together. I've saved a lot over the years. Never done anything like this before but I think now is the perfect time!
Thank you in advance!

Windows Movie Maker can take photos and movies and join them in what you might call a movie more like a slide show. You can add music and other thing.

As for making a "movie" I don't know of a program, maybe some else on the forum know of one.

Thank you. This helps. Slideshow with captions & background music is exactly what I wanted!

I'd go with Windows Movie Maker as well. It's free, relatively easy to use and you can share to Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr as well.

If you're looking for some royalty free music to use in your movie try Dan-O Songs, just Google it and you should find him

Picasa will also do it for you. You can add music and fit the slideshow to the music, upload to youtube or export locally.

I always use Slideshow Creator from Bolide. It's easy to use and you can turn your slideshow into a movie that plays on a computer or television, your choice.
Here's the link to download: http://download.cnet.com/Bolide-Slideshow-Creator/3000-13631_4-75628728.html

It's stable, no limit to number of photos and free. Highly recommended.

I agree on the Movie Maker. If you don't have time or desire to learn software and how to burn a DVD of it to get this done before 10/25 you could always take your shots to someone locally who does that kind of thing.

Not to be morbid but there are companies in every major city who do exactly what you want for funerals, complete with music, fades and wipes, etc. and they get it done in one or two days for visitation times. More expensive, for sure, but sometimes experience and speed is worth paying for.

I agree, Windows Movie Maker works great. Each year I take all the photos I have of the grand kids, trophies, awards, artwork, etc. and put them on a DVD with selections of the child's favorite music of the past year and give it to the mom and dad for Christmas. Big hit and easy to make.

Thank you everyone! We recently got a new computer with Windows 7. I didn't realize it comes with Movie Maker. I have it. So, Movie Maker it is. I will keep all the other suggestions in mind for future use. Thanks again!
