Are you old enough to remember Salisbury "steak"? I can remember when it was a staple of every diner and most home kitchens. Pantry was bare last night. I had ground meat, mushrooms, onions, and noodles --> hence, Salisbury steak. It brought back some memories. Yum!

Here's a neat variation on Salisbury Steak....sort of a combination between French Onion Soup & Salisbury Steak...taken from my wife's online cookbook:

Never had it as a TV dinner but the wife and I make that every once in a while. We use hamburger patties instead of steak. Served with potatoes and gravy and green beans or peas. One of my favorite meals.

I must correct myself. My wife tells me that I am talking about Mc Swiss steak. Not Salisbury steak. I guess I don’t know as much about steak is I thought I did.

We only had, it now and then, as a special Sunday meal. So good!

We rarely had Salisbury steak at home, but sometimes ordered it out at a restaurant. I had a great uncle who preferred it over other types of steaks when given a choice.
