Was able to go for another walk yesterday with my wife. This one was a little over 2 miles. A little more than the other day. This one gave me GAS. A look at these will tell you why . The 140mm just was not long enough. OK but could be a lot closer. I can not afford GAS. Times are hard.

Nikon D7200 with 18-140mm (to short) this time. But I still had FUN!

This bird looks hurt. It was pretty close to the trail and did not move/scare much. 140 mm and was fairly close here

Not bad here but a 600 would have been better.

The lens you used is a good one in my opinion. Your shots are very nice. Longer might be fun but you're getting very good results as is.

Good shots, having fun is what its all about. I gotta say that I have the D7200 and the Sigma C 150-600. Not a combination for a walk at least in my opinion. Way too heavy. I'm 69 and cant carry that monster around. For walks stick with what you have or maybe a 70-300. The D7200 is about 1.5lbs, the 18-140 around 1.1lb. A 70-300 a little heavier at around 1.6 lbs, but the 600mm comes in at 4.5lbs. Just sayin. Have fun.

That owl looks more like a kestrel. It would be easier to tell if it were a bit more in focus.

Thanks for looking Flip. Ok don't know if it is or not, but it looked like an owl to me, and there are lots of owls in this area I found out.

It's on focus on my monitor at 100%, but is it to small to get a good look. It does have a long tail like a kestrel, but the markings and head look like an owl to me.

Thank you very much Mike. It sure feels good to be able to get out and walk for a change. The last 10 minutes I wanted to quit, I hurt so bad. I have ankloysing spondylitis, a crippling form of arthritis, in my lower back and hips, and in cold weather I can hardly walk. This warm weather is doing me good. Take care.

I know how you feel as I'm scheduled for a blood test to check for markers for ankylosing spondylitis, actually at my suggestion to my doctor.

I ran into an article about it and recognized the symptoms that I've been having. Walking causes lower back and upper butt pain. It's been curtailing my ability to go out and take pictures.

It's a very bad disease. I tried to organize a support group her in Fresno, CA. But covid-19 stopped that.

Check this out......
