I know that Adorama reps purse this site, probably B&H also. Just a comment about their shipping policies, I was about to place an order with Adorama for accessories for a newly purchase drone, had everything in my cart ready to check out when I noticed their shipping policies..... 7 to 10 days? Amazon will have it here in 2 days. I would rather deal with Adorama than Jeff Bezos, but not if I have to wait for 2 weeks.

I used to buy all my ink cartridges from B&H when they didn't charge sales tax in my state. Now they have to. There is no longer a price advantage. So, Amazon's logistics wins. I get it tomorrow!

Hate Bezos all you want. But, he and his crew have figured out a delivery system that is second to none.

I received 2 orders from B&H this week. The 1st was ordered 4 April & arrived yesterday, 13 April. The 2nd was ordered 6 April & arrived today. The owners are observant Jews so the store was closed for a few days. Both orders qualified for expedited shipping. That still doesn't account for both orders taking over a week to get here from the east coast. That's slower than normal UPS/Fedex ground service. May have to consider ordering from Amazon next time.

Order on line from both Adorama & B&H, wife orders from Amazon.
Ordered filter from B & H Just after midnight, received before noon next day (less then 12 hours), did not pay extra for fast shipping.
Ordered another filter from Adorama took 5 days for delivery.
Wife ordered a pillow from Amazon Monday promised for del yesterday, still not here.
I think overall it is luck of the draw, ya win some and lose some

Ditto: "Hate Bezos all you want. But, he and his crew have figured out a delivery system that is second to none."

Further, this system continues to evolve. In selected areas, Amazon now offers delivery to a standalone hub where a customer may pick up his order 24/7/365.

The outstanding performance of the Amazon delivery system under the economic order of capitalism (AKA a market order) illustrates the superiority of this order. Even a diehard communist might prefer this performance.

7 to 10 days is not two weeks.

The B&H payboo card eliminates the sales tax argument.

I don’t buy a lot of stuff from B&H but the only time an order took more than a couple days was over Passover. I’m happy with their service.

I just purchased a used camera and a MacBook Air from B&H. They have to travel a very long distance to reach me in Yakima, Washington, but I have always enjoyed great service and satisfaction from B&H and I want to remain loyal to them.

Both B&H and Adorama are owned by Orthodox Jews. They were recently closed for eight days to observe their religious beliefs, so some of the delay may be caused by backlog of orders.

It's pretty sad when we base our shopping decisions on how quickly non-emergency "stuff" can get to our door. Yeah, I have an amazon account also.

Yes, that is why I use Amazon, unfortunately among other things he is killing local retailers and all community businesses suffer, what Bezos has accomplished is amazing, but it does come at a cost.

I usually get my orders from them in one or two days. I always find their shipping to be fast.

Don't get me wrong, I too have been loyal to both Adorama and B&H, but they need to address their shipping, when I lived in Florida I used to get it next day delivery from Amazon as there was a distribution center in the town where I lived, now that I live in the somewhat remote NC mountains I get it in 2 days. It is true that if your product is not coming from a distribution center but rather one of Amazon's small retailers shipping can take longer, but most of their products are delivered very quickly. Back in the day when I first started using B&H and Adorama they had the best pricing you could get from a reliable vendor because their products were discounted, now days they pretty much stick to retail pricing and sell for the same prices as any other vendor....

The point of opening this thread is that they should address their shipping, Walmart and even the big warehouse stores such as Sam's and Costco have made great strides in the last couple of years in their attempt to compete with Amazon, B&H and Adorama in my opinion should do the same by addressing the length of time between placing orders and delivery of product to consumers.

B&H and Adorama are single store locations.
You cannot expect them to use the same methodology as national chains...they'd never make it financially.
All of their products come from a central warehouse.

Many times it depends on what you order from B&H, and probably Adorama. I live in upstate NY. If I place my order with B&H by something like 3 PM so that it can leave the NJ warehouse that day, I always have it the next day. That is with FedEx and it was true with UPS when the warehouse was in Brooklyn. Provided the item is in stock, of course. Plus, the shipping, to my door, is almost always free. Small items can be a different story. These often get shipped differently. I ordered some memory for my wife's computer from B&H recently. It was shipped free, but via DHL. Took several days for it to arrive and then I had to pick it up at the post office instead of at my front door.
I can not recall ever having a lost or damaged shipment from UPS of FedEx, except for an order of pet food from Chewy.com that was packed incorrectly. A bag ripped in a box with other items. No lost product. Sent them a photo of the damage just so that they would know somebody messed up. Told them I didn't need anything replaced. They insisted on re-shipping the entire order, no charge. Hard to beat that!

I have used Adorama for all my photo needs for 15 years now. All of my orders have arrived within two - three days of ordering without paying for expedited shipping. The only exception has been during Jewish Holidays, but they announce that ahead of time. And in almost every case - shipping was free. This was true even last year during all the shutdowns. Adorama does rely on UPS and USPS so maybe delays in your area are due to inefficiencies other than Adorama's. (I live in Dayton, Oh). I have never used Amazon for anything but I believe they have their own delivery service. I don't think that would be practical for either Adorama or B&H.

Cut-throat capitalism has been around a long time. One function of unfettered capitalism involves competition bringing both lower cost and innovation. Mr. Bezos has found a new way to beat the competition while trimming his costs.
