Thanks quixdraw and Brian S. I ended up purchasing the one on Amazon. It got pretty good reviews and I have prime so order should come quickly. I didn't think to look on either of those places.

I purchased one of the JJC brand. It is well made, durable, has the lock and release button.

That's the one I bought too. What a difference in price from Canon's which varies in price from 59-119.00 and none in stock that I found! This should do the trick temporarily if not permanently. Thanks.
