New Super Resolution in ACR

I have tried out this new feature and it does a good job. I do have some questions though. Should the super res feature be used first thing before PP or should you get the image where you want it before you do the super res? Will it make any difference? I also seem to have to open the image from my file manager to photoshop to get the image to open up in acr with the feature. If I go to PS from LR and then select acr from the filter menu the super res feature is not available.

Yep I noticed to LR to PS thing although none of the files I export from LR open in ACR.

It is intended to be used on the RAW file which means it must be done first. Eventially, it will work with Lightroom, but now, you should open a RAW file from Photoshop which causes ACR to open. Next, right click on the image and select "enhance" and then make sure "super resolution" is checked.

If you want to try it on images other than RAW, like JPEG, use Bridge. Then, right click on the image and select "Open in Camera Raw".

Adobe says the feature is not yet in the Lightrooms, but will be coming. An update yesterday to the Lightrooms enable it to open the DNG that comes out of ACR after the Enhance Super Resolution process.

I've tried it on a few images and like what it does. In my case, it was an improvement to a crop. Would a bigger, better camera with better lighting, etc. make better image files? Of course, but this is one of the tools I think I will see some use from. It is certainly easy!

The Lightroom Queen indicated it was coming but did not make the cut for March 2021 LrC update. This is the first time I have personally noticed any difference in ACR between LrC and Ps.

...here's Morgani's take. I just tried it and, although clunky without the LR side of things being in place, it's gonna be a nice PS addition.
