I wonder if Nikon does well with this camera. I don't see posts saying someone on the UHH bought one.

Uh huh. Good bet they all have D850s.
Another camera with a mirror, in 2021?

No, 2020 actually.
2020, thaz badenoff... so, as of 2021, no more dinosaurs. Let them waddle off into the sunset.

The F6 was the last Nikon SLR so the D6 is the last Nikon DSLR?

Lots of folks are still getting fantastic results from their mirrored camera's. Why are you questioning their reasoning?

Nikon introduced this camera in 2020, the Z's came out in 2018, I am sure the Z cut into the sales of the D780. I know of at least 4 shooting buddies who own the D750 and just did not see the D780 as a giant step forward. With that said, if the D780 does not sell well, I am sure Nikon will stop producing it. Unlike Sony that keeps older camera's in production Nikon does not.
The Nikon D780 is a solid camera that delivers sharp images. And will for years to come.

UHH members make up only a small fraction of all camera owners. I would not base anything off the fact you see few posts here about the D780.
If I’m not mistaken in live view it pretty much a z6 by the way it operates
By now it is obvious that mirrorless cameras will easily take up the market in the near future. They have been selling well and professionals seem to be entirely satisfied with their performance.
With the introduction of the Z9 it is very possible that a large group of professionals using Nikon dSLR begin to use the new mirrorless FX flagship although we do not have at this time enough information about the new camera.
Sony has done very well among professionals.
I purchased the D780 and love it. It takes outstanding photos and meets my needs totally. I like to feel a solid camera and wanted a full frame camera and like DSLRs. I understand people wanting to go mirrorless or the need for the latest but I am totally pleased with my choice.

Yes they are. But in the last 2 years mirrorless tech has put all mirror cameras in the category of model T by comparison. Model T will get you there just fine like a mirror camera will take a good photo.
when looking at features though like bird eye AF @ 20 fps the mirror slapper fails.
Video capability, except for the 1DX MII and 90D is absolutely primitive in mirror cameras, and yes people want that feature.
the last 2 years have been amazing to me in the advances in viewfinder especially. The EVF is truly challenging the OVF finally.
