For those of you who may be struggling with the "buy" decision, this will help you out.

You went to a lot of trouble, considering that you already had decided to buy the boat. One question: Is it big enough for two??

I'm guessing you are a used boat salesman... if you arn't you should be.

The two happiest moments of a sailors life:

1. The day he buys the boat.
2. The day he sells the boat.

I’ve seen a similar one for a camera/lens.

Whatever boat you buy will always be two feet too short. Been down that channel.

When I lived in Charleston my boss had a boat he stored in one of those multi-level boat houses at a marina. Hurricane Hugo destroyed the boat house and his boat along with it. When asked if he was buying another, his reply was that a boat was a hole in the water you pour money into and he was buying a horse instead!

Just go down to a dock every month and throw $400 bucks into the water.
After a few months...you'll get over it.

It is tough to find frivolous things to compete with a boat. However, a horse qualifies.

A horse possesses many of the same qualities of a boat - initial expense, high maintenance, etc.
On the other hand, a horse will provide companionship unavailable in a boat. The price for that companionship is dealing with the "road apples".

DEFINITION OF A BOAT: A hole in the water, lined with fiberglass, into which you throw money.

That decision tree also applies to sports car purchases.

And if you love the water, it's worth every penny

Don't tell my sister that. She has a horse stable where she boards people's horses (mostly the ladies) and gives riding lessons, mostly to their daughters. Seems the ladies are the ones who are into horses. I think us guys (we guys?) had to depend on horses for centuries to earn a living so we don't want to be bothered with them anymore. Just a thought.

I have a strikingly similar one called ARE YOU GOING TO BUY THE LENS? Funny how it comes out the same.
