I would like to know if members have this camera, the Olympus E-PM2, and which is their contentment ?
I'am a new member.

After a lengthy search I have just ordered a PL2. Don't know how it is different from PM2 but I think we have both made good choice

www.dpreview.com is a good place to find all the details of your camera and compare with other cameras side-by-side (In the menu under Buying Guide).

I looked at the micro 4/3 cameras, and even had an opportunity to hold one and take a couple of pictures. Found that for my hands they are too small (the E-PM2 is 4 1/3 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/3 inches approximately).
I have a P&S (Lumix) for when I need a picture NOW, but would not be able to use that for any length of time.
Also, a drawback for me would be that there is not viewfinder, unless you buy it separately.

I have been using the E-5 for almost two years now, it fits my hands.
Not really a comparison with the micro 4/3rds though.

Anyway, just my 2-bits worth.

I've been shooting Olympus 4/3 since the E-1 and E-3. I went to the PEN (micro 4/3-same sensor, smaller mirrorless cam) as soon as they came out. I currently have an E-PL1 (second E-PL1) with the kit 14-42II lens, for fastest focus.

I will be getting the new E-PL5 with the new 16Mp sensor that was introduced in the OM-D EM5 Olympus that took the mirrorless market and is kicking ass all over the place, including some DSLR.

Over the span of time I've used Olympus, I've owned four Nikon DSLRs, and three Canons (1 FF 5D). I wanted to rent a Canon T3i (18 MP) to shoot concurrently with my E-PL1. (18 vs 12 Mp in the olympus). I determined it was cheaper to buy it, use it for three months, and then sell it. I did that and sold the Canon at a loss of $100 (cheap rent)

The Oly, again, kicked butt on the T3i after three months of carrying both cameras.

I shoot a lot of car shows, so my primary concerns are:

Dynamic Range
Very lively colors
SHARP images straight "out of camera"
Size is secondary because "I am a real man"

The Olympus, starting with the E-PL1 model became the sharpest image OOC that I have used in any camera line since Oly took a chance and weakened the AA filter and even with this new filter Moire is not a problem. No blown highlights as a rule.

So due to the increased MP, I will buy the E-Pl5, and the accessory Optical View Finder. I will probably get one prime (both Olympus and Panasonic have created a stable of lenses in both primes and zoom that exceed the quality and range of lenses of all the "mirrorless" brands)

Since I desire to reduce PP with sharper OOC, the micro 4/3 PEN E-PL1 is the first and only camera I have used that makes post processing mostly unnecessary, I will stay there until I can get the E-PL5.

I'm not sure you will find much user review on the E-PM2 since it just came on the market last week or so. In fact, introduced alongside the E-PL5 (my choice), I have not found the 5 available due to still ramping up to meet demand.

As was said earlier, if the E-PM2 is the same size as the E-PM1, it's too small for me. Same general height and width of the E-PL(x) bodies, but thinner. And even for that, it is still not pocketable with a lens on it. The lenses are getting smaller. I could see the E-PM2 being pocketable in a large field coat pocket with the shortest focal length prime, but even the 14-42II kit lens (smaller than the version I) is still 2 inches long in front of the camera.

I'll probably have very large pockets sewn on all my shirts, so I can say my camera is pocket. I can't wait until I stoop over to pick up a penny and watch the camera bounce off the pavement.

Good luck on your quest. Since it was intro'd at Photokina, and after Photokina all reports I saw said the E-PL5 and E-PM2 would be shipping in October, and it's only the 7th of October, I think it may still be a bit before it's in many hands.

However in summary, I will say the Olympus mirrorless camera's are superlative for what they were designed to do.

Furthermore, even Professional photogaphers are picking up PENs for second systems that qualify for many of the images they take, when a lighter camera will be an advantage.

So, I'd say jump when you get the chance, because there's going to be a run on these two new cameras.

If you've never shot Olympus glass you are in for a real treat.

If you've never shot a camera that did not need sharpening in Post Processing, that will be another treat.

Like I mentioned, I searched and tested long and hard in the CaNikon serfdom, and the Olympus E-PL1 freed me from a string of images that were just a little to soft to satisfy my requirement. Now... perhaps a crop, and the image is a go. Regarding the crop, proper composition usually takes care of that.

Many thanks to the membrers who tooke time to answer to me. ( Melismus, EstherP, ggiaphotos and saichiez )
You will excuse my poor english, my mother language is french.

I am 81 y.o. I remember when I was about 7 y.o. my godfather had give me a Kodak Brownie.

Since the time when I devote myself to the photograph, at least 60 years, I have experimented many brands of camera.like Topcon, Olympus, Panasonic, Canon . When I retired, 15 years ago, I was in most cases interested in the photography of birds. Most of the time, I shooted with an Olympus C-750, Pentax DSLR, K100D, Panasonic DMC FZ50 + 1,7 converter, (I still have it,and it is a wonderful Bridge) finally with my Pentax K-5, + 125-400mm zoom.

I sold last year all my big equipment, because I had health problems and I could not transport any more in tracks, tripod, lens, you know, all the stock.

Today, I have my Panasonic FZ50 and my Pentax K-5 + a Macro Tamron Lens 90mm 2,8. Good by birds, let's go on Macro. But, I'm still 40 y.o in my head and I need a little gadget to keep in my pocket averyday when I go out, in case... So, that is why I tought that an Olympus E-PM-2 would be a good idea or the E-PL5. Instead of the 14-42mm lens, I would add the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux lens.

You know, sometimes, when it is time to spend on luxury articles, there is a small voice which arrives in the head which prevents you from making decision and that asks you if you really need it.
This is where I am in my decision.

Have a good week, all members.
