Well most critters stop posing, they think eating is more important.
Taken on different days but all with my Canon 90D and Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600.
Two female or immature male house finches.
A male Anna's hummingbird - the angle of light changes the gorget from black to red.
A squirrel demonstrating that you can eat and pose at the same time.
#1 & #2 Female or immature House Finches.
#3 & #4 Male Anna's Hummingbird. He pulled his beak out, turned his head and his gorget flashed red, I mashed the shutter and by the time it
clicked...> Slow they are not.
#5 Squirrel raiding the bird seed - I made him an honorary bird. This one has high speed sync fill flash.
#1 If you don't like this side, too bad, I'm eating.

#5 Squirrels are smarter, we can chew and pose at the same time.

Good captures. Good captions.
Great captures. Enjoyed #5 -- excellent pose. Mahalo for sharing.

Thank you.
Necessity is the mother of invention. But boredom is the step-mother of imagination.

Thanks
It took 5 minutes for the squirrel to come completely into the open and turn sideways for a good pose. I was beginning to think I would have to put out more bird seed to keep him around on that retaining wall.
This young red bellied woodpecker was not about to let a feeder designed for smaller birds keep him from reaching the seed. It pressed its head into the cage as far as it could, then let its incredible tongue do the rest.

See, where there is a will, there is a way!
I will "assume" it didn't get its head stuck.

Nope -- came back for more until it had its fill. Very annoying for the smaller birds, since it made clear that it preferred to eat alone. They watched from nearby branches until they finally could return.

Jerry,
Great series. The second shot is best.

Is that you in the red shirt? (Just looking in the squirrel's eye)

No, that is the reflection of the fill flash and a red hummingbird feeder slightly to the right and above the squirrel. I am inside our family room with my camera on a tripod pointed out the sliding door across our swimming pool and the second tier of our lawn - house lot is on a north facing slope and terraced.
Main level: sidewalk, front yard, house, pool deck and pool Second terrace: main part of back yard Third terrace a 2 foot wide raised flower bed Forth terrace an 11 foot wide upper level of back yard (you need a ladder to get to it-always intended to build stairs) which is on the level of the house/lot on the uphill side of the block.

They all made me laugh - but the last one (squirrel) takes 1st prize. Fun captions!
