To help get me motivated and shoot more I signed up for a black and white photo class at a local community college. Our first “homework” assignment was to bring to the next class 5 or 6 photos to show to the others in the class. I went out two different days. The first was a gray overcast day and captured 26.9, Lone Tree and Old Barn. Day two was bright and clear where all were taken at the Danial Boone Home National Historic Site in St. Charles County MO. All shot in color and converted to B&W in post. Comments welcome.

All very good shots. I like the gas pump the least, however. It is too straight-on, flat; or something.

The B&W conversions are great - you seem to be getting into the "zone". Generally, B&W tends to be a little more contrasty - you need some deep blacks to make things "pop".

Thanks for your input and critique. I know what you mean by the pump having a flat look. A different angle may have been a better option.
