Why so different colors?

one is either a 28 or 50mm f2 or f2.8 on the same camera
The bluer one is the Sony 16mm on the Sony NEX 5N
Why are the colors so different? The makeup of old lenses?
The stains are on the window thru which I took the photos
Old vivitar/Minolta 28/50mm on 5N
Native lens on 5N
Well the lighting is entirely different for one thing. The only way to do a comparison is to have both lenses at the same time under the same conditions(this includes same Fstop, same focal length and same shutters peed) to make a a comparison.
You are comparing apples to bananas here. It is that simple.

I agree with Tom. If it wasn't the same day and time. They will never look close.

No, THE SAME LIGHT. That is why itbis so strange. I just switched the lenses on the camera. It goes to auto. So, the camera should have used the same settings. Both lenses are 2.8 or 2.0.the time, the same except to what was needed to switch.

That is weird then. Even the clouds look different. Can you look at the metedata on them? That might give us a clue as to what changed.

Is il do tHe same test tomorrow and use a tripod, so the scene has minimal variation. At least on the second I can see only part of the tIp of the same cloud, but the focal lengths of the lenses are different so the scenes will not cover exactly the same angle of view. Will por new tomorrow to aske sure time in between is minimL.
The lens that produces the faded colors is an old MD , attached with an MD to NEX adapter. The bluer tone lens is a Sony original.more details tomorrow.

Hard to evaluate this as the same light when one scene is appears to be cloudless and the other has light filtered by clouds. I'm with Erv on this one.

Just a bit to the right of the one with clouds, the difference mY be that one is 16mm and the other eitherb28mm or 50. It is what it is.I hope you aRe not doubting my word. there is no reason for that.
...and clouds move quickly in Florida.

Not doughting you at all. Just doesn't make sence. I would like to see your shots from tomorrow. I can beleive they are that far apart with just changing lenses.:) A tripod would be a good idea tho. The camera might not have the same veiw, but it should have the same light hitting it. It might be that the older lens is not talking to the camera right. Did you look at the metadata? That would tell a lot of what happened. Be waiting to see your new shots.:)

Not yet, I am on my iPad. Information not all be available for Older lens since it will not recognize the old lens entirely. I had to setup the camera to take non Sony mount lenses.
Thank you. We will see tomorrow.
Shoot both from exactly the same position...you have moved. One appears to be shot early or late afternoon the over on a dull day from another part of the yard......
It almost looks like one was taken with a CP filter and the other without.
Also is the white balance the same on both?
Definitely not the same light. The first one has clouds, the second one doesn't. Clouds are gray, and that gray is reflected in the water in the first one. Blue sky is reflected in the water in the second one. Can't expect the same coloring at two different times of day.
Unrelated... but the second photo indicates that the sensor may need cleaning. Spots in the sky-- most noticeable in the upper left.
