I'm a canon shooter, but Nikon has amazing cameras and a quality organization. They will be fine, I think.

Of course they will. They may need to downsize some of their departments, but that's about it.

A few years back when I gave up film I went to Dans camera in Allentown. Not sure what camera Canon or Nikon I was going to come home with. There just happened to be a Nikon rep there demonstrating their camera. I guess he talked me into a Nikon. Their both great cameras. I have four lens. Up to a 600 mm. I shoot every day. Never leave home without my camera. Never know what you may come across. Ive shot photos for the police, fire dept. and other shots that made it into the news papers. Even had one on TV. So never go out your camera.

I don't have the crystal ball but if you ask me to bet I would bet YES. They will survive 2021.

All industry in Japan is very robust. They have a "never say die" attitude. To adjust operations to a level that is sustainable is going to be required. That is why they are pulling out of unprofitable areas of production. It is going to be a few lean years before things settle out. But I believe they will continue on and adjust to the new market demands. They have a loyal user base. Look at Fuji. They are the Kodak of the East. While Kodak didn't adjust to the new market, Fuji did and they are still producing film supplies as they always did. They produce some of the best cameras today while Kodak's attempt to move into digital failed. Just one example.

Millions of people every day with no particular photographic knowledge do the very same thing...we see there images on social media and television constantly.
I'm a lot more concerned with me surviving 2021 than Nikon!

Most of the time those folks who are preaching doom and gloom just want to spit into the wind, or pull the mask of the lone ranger. I pay them little attention as they are only expressing their OPINION, they are just TALKING HEADS and most of them never post images cause they are not capable of taking a decent image.
Camera companies will be in business long after I am 6 feet under.
I follow the MAD Magazine creed, " WHAT, ME WORRY?"
I hope so, with a D3s D4s D500 and D850 and 21 lens and a arsenal of flashes my money sure did its part helping. I think Nikon needs to come out with a camera that just blows everyone away and a must have to bring them back again.
Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a better photographer. It makes you a future former Nikon owner.
Aston Martin has been in the car business since 1913, and has lost money almost every year. Where there is a market, there is a way.

Most of the photography money is spent by amateurs. Nikon decision to concentrate only on full frame mirrorless is very perilous. That's not where most of the money is.
