does anyone use the Nikon D7500 dslr? If so, does anyone have any comments, both good or bad. ZEKE
I have liked my 7500 but after 13 mo the main board failed not on warranty if this is a fluke camera is great although now use 810 7500 was light weight which was great with the 200 500 although still heavy tools it to Europe for 3 weeks was pleased with results. Does not have slot for second card which was ok for me and screen not as much resolution as d500 but also was ok for me. 21 megapixels ok but now have 36 so better fo cropping so depends on what you photograph

I have had a D7500 for a couple of years. It has been dropped, broken badly, and repaired. I like it better than any other camera I have tried. Smaller and lighter than the D500, but with the same sensor. Slower burst speed and smaller buffer than the D500, but that has not proved to be a problem. See seven-oaks.net/dickspics for what I have done with that camera. Overall, I won't get another camera unless Nikon produces something smaller, lighter and more capable.
OTOH, I have not use for video or on-camera flash, so if Nikon produces an APS-C equivalent of the Df camera, I might be interested.
Cheers,
Dick

Nikon has a lot of claims about how better it was over the D7200 but in reality, those changes were too subtle to really matter in general photography. What matters a lot is that battery time is less and there is no second memory card.
This means i would happily use a D7200 for paid events but never would even consider using the D7500.
Even the movable screen is less articulate than those the one in the D5300 which can be viewed from the front.
I have both a D7500 and two D500's. The D7500 is a great camera. Don't hesitate to purchase one. It has the same sensor as the D500. The D7500's 51-point AF is excellent but not in the same league as the 153-point AF in the D500.
From personal experience I can tell you that if you plan on dropping your camera onto a concrete floor in a parking garage, the D7500 is not the camera you are looking for. Other than that minor flaw, it was a very serviceable camera. However, I took the opportunity to replace it with a D500, which is one of the best purchase decisions I have ever made.

I upgraded from a D3200 to the D7500 about 2 years ago and couldn't be happier with it. It is fantastic
If your budget keeps you in the D7500 purchase category, you won’t go wrong. I’ve had mine not quite two years and am very pleased with it. If I could afford the D500 at the time, I most likely would have purchased it. The D7500 is a nice camera IMHO.
I have both a D7100 and a D7500. I prefer the D7500 for my overall shooting needs, but when I am doing either macro photography or long distance telephoto shooting, I switch to the D7100 for its slightly better resolution.
I’ve had mine for a couple of years and have been very happy with it. For me, it’s in the sweet spot of price and features. It’s my first DLSR after a 30 year hiatus from my B&W film days. You just have to consider what your needs / wants / price sensitivities are, and try to find the right balance. The single card slot doesn’t bother me, but if I shot for hire, I’d probably want the second slot. I’d probably want a backup body as well.

Just be very careful typing the URL for his website or you might get an unpleasant surprise. 😜🤪
Notably better pictures than with my D5300; and can use all my lenses from oldest (D's and AF's) to newest (10-20 AF-P).
I’m shocked that CHG_CANON hasn’t chimed in that only a FF Canon mirrorless is of my capability whatsoever and that no true photographer would use anything else...shocked I tell ya.
My friend raves about his. He does professional video and stills with it. He just sold his 18-140 lens and got the 18-300.
I love my d7500. Two drawbacks. No depth of field button and one card slot. (SD) other than that it's a great camera.
