Here's an excerpt from an approximately 1,000 word article written by AP (Associated Press).

...I do think there’s a palpable shift, from knee-jerk defense of the president to ‘wow, that was a bridge too far,’” said Kirk Adams, the former Republican speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives"

CNN has reported that Mitch has publicly stated that he believes Trump engaged in an impeachable offense.

I know this is going to sound weird but Mitch referred to Biden as Mr. President elect after the electoral college confirmed its vote. After that, trump's conduct at his Georgia rallies was mostly about how he was robbed. He is such a vengeful b**trd that I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't give a damn about the two senate races because if they both lost, Mitch loses power. I've recently seen McConnell referred to as "Dr. NO".

Have you read the speech that incited the riot? Here is the only place where he mentions the capitol

"We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections, but whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country. Our country has been under siege for a long time, far longer than this four-year period. We’ve set it on a much straighter course, a much … I thought four more years. I thought it would be easy. We created-"

You apologists are doing everything you can to avoid seeing what he did and now refuses to accept responsibility. Nothing I say or what those in Congress say will convince you otherwise. He wanted a large riot, he let it run for hours but it just didn't get enough traction for him to declare martial law and then nullify the election. That is what General Kelly advised, it was reportedly discussed at length. Why do yo think trump fired Esper and put Miller in his place (another trump lapdog). Why do you think the past Sec. of Defense signed a public letter reconfirming that the US military cannot be used to settle political disagreements.

You don't see it, perhaps you never will.

ISO, you need to be silenced for perpetuating this divisive, insurrectionist violence.

The left has lost whatever it had remaining of a mind.

Do you ever post anything of depth pertaining to an important issue? You should find a better way to lick your wounds.

If they're coming for me, I might just have to end it all. Tis better to die at my own hands than suffer a long and lengthy trial listening to some snot-nosed prosecutor that just let some murderers off because they were woke. At least I have a number of shiny weapons to choose from.

Since I am done in, let me just get one thing off my chest: The only thing good that ever came out of Duke was their basketball team. Duke grads are a pretentious lot who couldn't survive one day in the woods during the summer.

More than ever whatever Trump does or says, his cult rushes to rationalize, excuse, and defend. His latest attempt on January 6th to stop the certification of Biden by inciting an insurrection, is unforgivable and should have never happened in this country. “We love you. You are very special”.
He did it, and his supporters defend him.

Ya see, that is where you yourself go too far, not too many people are still defending what happened on Wednesday and the role Trump played, but it was not criminal nor was it impeachable, you folks always go a bridge too far and in doing so you are insulting and arrogant, there are a host of other words I would use to describe you and your attitude but it would get me kicked off the forum.

BTW, I think that I can say that I have never considered you to be a great thinker or one that could actually understand the greater context of any event or problem.

There it is! That’s as close to acknowledgment as you’ll see. This is next phase of the trump apologist playbook. First, it was deny, deny, deny. Then it was blame others...in this case, Antifa. Then it was deflect..but, but the BLM protestors! Then it was “well the democrats forced our hand”. Then it was fake news of law enforcement being involved. The latest one is “yes, he did, but being misinterpreted.” It never actually gets to full ownership and responsibility.

"The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President," said Cheney. "The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not."
"There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,"

I did watch the video though I clearly did not enjoy it. Not because it offered any rational explanation contrary to my opinion - it didn't. This unaffiliated "reporter" makes assumptions - ANTIFA was present and the guy with the backpack was not a trump supporter. The FBI asserts they saw no evidence support the presence of ANTIFA and, the guy with the back pack changing his clothes is probably smart enough to realize this crap is serious trouble and he is trying to sneak his way out of there.

Here's something you might find interesting. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he believes trump committed impeachable offenses and is 'pleased' democrats are moving forward with impeachment of trump because it will help rebuild the republican party.

Link is to The Independent through Yahoo news but there are also other copies because this is such a big deal.

Here's something else. The joint Chiefs of Staff have condemned Wednesday's riot as insurrection.
