There is a 1/2 inch empty stripe from the top of the screen to the bottom. So that the screen does not go all the way to the left. I have tried every thing that I know and can't get the screen to go all the way to the left. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Would be helpful to know what kind of PC you are using and what version of software.
If it's a desktop monitor, there'll likely be a few buttons on the bottom or back of the monitor for making adjustments of color, contrast, positioning, etc. Look for an "Auto Adjust" among those buttons. That may work. It takes a few seconds to do its thing.
If none of the adjustments work, see if you can borrow a monitor.
(Warning, attaching the test monitor may adjust your monitor resolution setting.)
The monitor may have gone south.
I had one monitor that had "The Edge of Night" creep from one side to about the middle.
Wound up replacing it. It was about ten years old!

I have a Dell 27-inch all-in-one and I am looking forward to the day when I can take my sledge hammer and smash this P.O.S. into a million pieces. But before I do this I will get an iMac.
Try warping the laptop display with your hands, also press along the top and bottom of the stripe, It may or may not go away, i do believe the display is the problem.

Reminds me of my recent problem with a Samsung Galaxy phone. The screen had faded to a solid gray and the phone was totally unresponsive. I googled issue ad nauseum and finally did a Youtube search. One video offered 6 different solutions. The one that worked was to use both thumbs and, pressing hard on the screen, draw your thumbs down from top to bottom several times.
Here's the link:

Could be just a quick change to the resolution which will correct the monitors aspect ratio.
Your software should allow you to view each till you accept the correct one for the monitor.
