Can anyone recommend a means of converting *.pdf to *.png photos? or a means of viewing a scrapbook of *.pdf files. Win 10 does not provide thumbnails for *.pdf... or, I've been unable to do this. Thanks...

Windows 10 will provide thumbnails of PDF. In file explorer make certain that you have Preview Pane selected. Also I quite often save PDF as jpg but you can also save as png. I use Photoshop to so.
I use a Fuji ScanSnap iX500 and you may not have the newest version of their software if you can't 'save as' jpg. When I first started using it 3-4 years ago it was pdf only but last year I downloaded a current copy of software from their site and it allowed me to save as jpg.
IrfanView will read and display at least the first page of a pdf file. When I am going through a file folder looking for photos, this can be a nuisance, but in this case it might be what you want. It is free to use. --Richard
I picked up a copy of Wondershare PDFElement and it works great... had to get the pro version to do batch conversion... first folder with 217 files... flawless. Only thing is that it saves the conversions in separate folders... a matter of doing a search for *.png and copying these into another sub-directory. Had to get the pro in order to process batch files... has an advantage that it comes with OCR software in case I need to convert a graphics file to text... occasionally have to... Problem solved... thanks...

I think you can open PDF in Photoshop and then save it as another format.
YES!!!! PDF = Photoshop Document File.
PDF... portable document file, if memory serves... I could open the files individually and convert them... I wanted to open a folder and convert all to *.png... first folder had 217 *.pdf files... other folders are similar. Thanks...

Your Epson software that came with the scanner should give you choices.
Thanks... I just wanted to scan the photos so I could see what they were... my ScanSnap only does *.pdf, but Win10 does not display these as thumbnails... I just wanted to see which were suitable for enlarging... I've picked a dozen or so that I will do a 'real' scan... I don't intend to use the *.pdf or resulting *.png as photos... just a means of viewing them. Again, thanks to everyone.
