What better way to ring in the New Years than by seeing beauty in the mundane. I've been photographing mud in southern Utah for over 40 years now, and it never gets old. In fact the last image was taken in Dark Canyon in 1980 and was the image that got me interested in shooting mud.Enjoy. (more to come tomorrow)

Very nice series! I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. Why not mud? You snapped some very artsy designs made by Nature...

Love them. Pure art, finding design and abstraction in nature. I wish I had thought of shooting mud, not to say that I never have, but your images are fantastic. I have photographed a lot of wood and bark over the years. Please do post more.

It looks like the finely shaved chocolate on some desserts. Did you taste it?

Dried mud is very photogenic. Wet mud can be interesting. Keep shooting it!
