Nikon D500 Problem

Hello, I'm seeking some advice, and or solutions, to an issue I have discovered on my D500. I can't seem to get RAW images saved to either one of my cards; XQD or SD. I have checked my settings numerous times and all seems correct. I have RAW set for primary slot; (XQD) and jpeg for (SD), secondary. Any suggestions ??

You have told the camera WHERE to save those files, but have you enabled shooting both?
Press the QUAL button and look at the top window to see if both are enabled, bottom left corner box will show your selection.

You're NOT a dummy. The D500 is a complex system requiring lots of reviews of not only Nikon's own User Manual, but considerable research of available tutorials on youtube.com. For example, the focusing system has a large number of options available to the user, but you need to know how to find the menus, and once you have found them, what the options mean and how they function. A good place to start is with Steve Perry's videos available free of charge on youtube.com. Have fun. They're great.

It's the button on top of Nikon Pro level cameras that allows you to quickly adjust the type of files saved (jpeg, nef, tiff) as well as the resolution choice of those files (basic, med, high) via the view in the cameras top window.
