Pete, my possum who I have been feeding for about a year.
A roofer was on top of the porch repairing a hole when I heard him holler. He said he just saw an animal in the roof. I told him not to worry, it was just Pete the possum.
Did you know they have more teeth than any other North American mammal? Cool Shot

Interesting fact. Thanks for the info.
Yes, I have heard that. And they seldom, if ever, get rabies. thanks.
Nice! If you want an interesting experience, open a trash can that has one in residence - they bare all of those teeth and hiss - unsettling to say the least!
Yes, indeed! And it doesn't help to think that their hiss is worse than their bite!
They are weird looking but very helpful..They eat ticks
We had one here too (side alley) for several weeks before it moved on.

I caught one eating my dogs food, snuck up behind him and picked him up by his tail. and let my youngest daughter feel how soft their fur is.
The funny thing was he went right back to the bowl of dog food.
Pete's a nice-looking possum. We have one that routinely plays dead when my dogs are outside. As soon as they come in the house, he gets up and walks away.
Odd-looking but cool! Please stay safe over the holidays. Season's greetings.

Great shot of a terrific critter, they stand side by side with the Vulture as removers of the dead - critters & carrion. And our only native marsupial....go Pete go...OPossum power! (we have several on the property, momma and son/daughters)....I see them on almost every nights run of videos from my game cam.
