On one of my usual walks, I passed someone’s house with a table out front. A lot of stuff, mostly junk. No cameras! Damn!! Hidden under stuff I noticed a clip watch. It wasn’t working. I had a $5 dollar bill burning a hole in my pocket. I brought it home and unscrewed the back. No battery was there and I went to MicroCenter and bought a replacement button battery. Damn watch wasn’t cooperative after 4 attempts. On the fifth try, I got it to work. I went on lone and found the user manual and downloaded it to my cell phone.
The watch tells time in 2 formats and 2 time zones. It has a programmable date, temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius. It has an altimeter and barometer and compass. Not bad for 5 dollars and 3 dollars for the battery.
My dilemma: Should I tell my wife or let her buy me a Citizen Eco-Drive watch?

But get the Citizen any way.

If you tell her, maybe she'll buy you a camera instead! (or at least a new lens)
I told my wife, “with the extra money, you don’t have to buy me the watch. You could buy a necklace, earrings, a nice bracelet or a camera lens. She just told me to get back to work”.

Knowing my wife, she will probably shove the lens someplace special. Ouch!

I would go for another watch. 1 is 0, 2 is 1. At least that is what my husband says. Probably to justify his 2 of things.
I’m going to hand the computer over to my wife. Do your best to convince her that I need two watches.

I bought a citizen eco titanium a few years ago I have to adjust it every six months for to daylight savings but it is usually less that 5 seconds out in that period. I love it. I have probably 20 watches but the citizen is every day watch. I'm guessing I've had it 8 years. I have a seiko kinetic the power cell needs replacing but I can't justify the expense.. There's bargains to be had at garage sales that's for sure.

I wonder what brand of watch Confucius wore.
My first watch was a gold Elgin pocket watch which I got after my grandfather died. Some years later it was stolen out of my gym locker. Now I wear a little Dick Tracy computer on my wrist called Apple Watch.

If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.... Confucius watch...Say KO
I had a Citizen EcoDrive watch and loved it. One day, it just stopped working so I took it to a repair facility and they replaced the capacitor for $160. Six months later, it stopped again so I bought a Seiko Solar and it still works flawlessly.
I have about 6 expensive watches I collected over the past few years but a year ago I purchased a Garmin health tracker to count steps etc. and it is all I will wear now. It is so light it hardly noticeable and very accurate. It is in sync with my phone and gives me all kinds of info but all those heavy watches are parked for now. The only down side is it needs charged about once a week but I do that with my laptop while doing email etc.

Gobi - Confucius used a bit of the sands of time, captured in a slightly pinched glass tube
