Cheer up! Only another week or so of this obsession, then it will be the usual set of cameras with this one added. A couple of times a month, the sun shines into the canyon I live in and turns the Rimrock gold, always striking. Happenstance, after my disappointment with my 2 DX kit lenses, I had just mounted my AF P Nikkor 10-20 4.5 5.6, a DX lens I have been pleased with. I decided to walk up the marked focal lengths. Don't believe I've systematically walked the focal lengths before.

Amazing images of intervals in the canyon making the Rimrock gold. Very interesting and attractive.

The camera, of course, is a golden oldie. The little lens is amazing and comparatively inexpensive. Told my best friend about it, he uses it on his D500 and D850 with great results. Yes you can use it on FX at around F16.

Nice pictures from a great old Nikon. I believe you have said you have a 24-85 lens. Have you tried it out on the D2x? If so I have missed it.

Thanks! The first three D2x posts were shot with the 24-85. Yesterday the first with 55-200 kit, the second with 10-20. If the light improves, this afternoon will be with a favorite of mine, the AF Nikkor 75-3004.5 5.6..
