I have about 5 Items that have been shipped about 10 days ago they have yet showed up, one being a lens,
most of the time it only takes 4-5 days.

I'm telling you this in case you order something for Christmas, if you do order it NOW.

My son is a truck driver for a big company he has Covid-19, can not return to work for 14 Days if he gets ok.

Sorry about your son. Today's Wall Street Journal has a big article about the slowness of shipping this year.

So, what's the percent increase in mail order in the past 6+ months?
Same amount of workers & sorting locations?

Speaking of porch pirates I reckon it is time to begin placing sabotaged packages full of excrement with an explosive that goes off when they open the package. That would at least slow things down a bit.

First off, I hope your son makes a complete recovery.

It's that time of year. I don't expect anything I order to arrive to arrive in the "usual" amount of time.

I have received (1) Wall Street Journal on correct day in last two weeks. I live in North Alabama and PO manager says transfer point in Birmingham is closed and one in Atlanta is closed also. This week I received a bunch of WSJ papers dating back to Dec. 4 but did not get that day's paper. I am 85 years old with Progressive Pulmonary Fibrous and not long for here at best. Sure don't need Covid.

Thanks sabfish. I have never seen it so slow, even just across town.

Thanks rmalarz, ya me either, but didn't think it would take twice as long, I'm not in any rush for it, just be nice if I could get it.

I ordered a product from a company 125 miles away that shipped using the UPS/USPS combo delivery system - UPS moves it to the nearest USPS sorting facility, and USPS takes it from there and delivers it. Took 3 days to get to my city by UPS because it went to the other side of the state first and changed trucks (normal UPS delivery - to my door - is overnight from this vendor) and then it sat in the USPS sorting center for 9 days before taking 2 more days to get to my mailbox. My actual "mailman" is often making 2 runs per day these days, and early one to deliver packages and a later run with the "regular" mail, so I don't think they're the ones sitting on their thumbs.

I used to have delivery problems with my WSJ and my local paper, too. Finally dropped WSJ and switched local to e-edition online; now it's just a couple of clicks away, no trip outside every morning in the cold or rain to pick it up, and I don't have to recycle it. Makes life so much easier.
