A friend mentioned that she makes meals from Home Chef three days a week. They deliver the frozen ingredients for $10 per meal. Have any of you used that? I'm going to look at their site.

My daughter likes them. She’s tried several meal plans and gets these frequently. The local grocery store has many pre-made dinner versions now too and those are quick to pickup and make (cheaper, too).

The best steak dinner at home is always less than $10 pp. I'll stick with home made too.

I'll stick with our own shopping and cooking. I have dietary needs, restrictions and am picky!

I went to their site, and I had to enter my email address; then my name and address; I stopped when they wanted my credit card info. Why do they need that if I'm not buying anything?

My daughter and her husband used one of those services except the food is fresh, not frozen. They both work and have a child so they really appreciated that all the ingredients (even obscure ones) are pre-measured and included in the package delivered to their front door. The other good thing about it, is that they get to try recipes they otherwise might never cook and could repeat those they like. It was very expensive, however, and they eventually gave it up, but that was for fresh, gourmet meals; frozen might be less costly although you're still paying for someone's labor and delivery charges in addition to the ingredients cost.

Here’s a sampling of some of their meals. You can customize to your preferences.

I found out that this is $8.99 per meal plus shipping, so it works out to a little over $10 per meal.

We have been using Home Chef since COVID 19 got started. It costs us $59 for four meals a week and we find it very high quality and extremely well packaged. The instructions for preparing are excellent. Only one meal we did not like this whole year. They are selling easy to cook meals at Kroger now as well.

I just spent a little more time exploring their site and it almost looks too good to be true. If providing frozen ingredients is what keeps costs down, I'm okay with that since I freeze a lot of my weekly shopping items anyway. I like the fact that they offer everything from "gourmet chef" ingredients to oven-ready tins. Keep us informed on how this turns out for you; I'm interested and I'd bet many others are, too. Hey; it could add a little variety to COVID-induced dining monotony!

If you have a WalMart Super Center nearby, you may be able to get individual meals without an account or a subscription.

We prepared three of these meals for our Pastor, who could not cook them right now. They were easy to do, good instructions, and looked great. I would try them for a once in a while treat but not most of the time. I also was turned off by the difficulty in looking at their meals and prices without setting up an account.
