The name of the restaurant is Fox's Lobster House.

OOPS......I was thinking Cape Neddick Light.... I've been to both. I don't remember a restaurant next to the Portland light. Sorry.

Oh, I liked the one by Two Lights. The Lobsta Shack. Great photo op there. Two light houses in the same view.

I lived in Portland for 30 years, been there, but never shot it !!??!! Ya, i know !!!
A great rendition, thanks for the posting !!
On the subject of seafood.....lots of the Portland kids have an aversion to seafood because, growing up, it was force fed to them regularly because it was cheap !
A friend of mine, who lived on one of the Casco Bay islands, had a stock line [for the tourists, mostly]...they were so poor, they had to eat lobster 6 days a week, as they could only afford chicken or beef on Sundays...of course, his DaD was a lobsterman !!
Again, great pic !!!
Thanks, Steve

Is it still cheap there. When I was there ( Boston up) about 10 years ago, my wife and I ate lobster 3 meals a day. It was like $5 for a meal or lobster roll, in a lot of places. Really cheap in bar harbor. Then we went to Nova Scotia and ate scallops like mad. Cheap cheap cheap... Best trip we have ever been on. Ready to go back.

This is a famous lighthouse which had it's beginning with George Washington and also had the poet Longfellow visit it and it was believed he wrote his famous poem on Lighthouses from this location.

Also on Christmas eve 1886 the Annie Maguire crashed and the crew was rescued by the lighthouse keeper and his family. No lives were lost.

Nice work, Randy!

Beautiful photo. By the way, it is the Portland Head Light. A "head" is a rocky promontory. The lighthouse sits on the Portland Head. At the far end of the state is the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, for example. (and to the East is the East Quoddy Head Lighthouse - both are also spectacular).

Thank you, I learned something. I love learning, now just to be able to remember that in a couple of years when I get back up there. But thank you. I do want to film West and East Quoddy Head Lighthouses.
