Storage tanks at the ethanol plant, Alexandria, Indiana.
Grand pappy's best buddy --the one from Kentucky, I think it was-- had a place that I heard looked a lot like that. Except grand pappy said his buddy called it a 'still' or something, and from what I heard, it didn't produce ethanol, it produced something called 'shine.' Just maybe not on quite the scale as what you've shown in your pic, John.
Seriously, though I don't generally care for the results of the urge that a lot of folks have toward producing an almost black sky (as if both a red filter and a polarizer had been used while exposing a b&w film) in a b&w image, in this instance I think something along those lines --i.e., dropping what would otherwise be a blue of relatively low intensity in a color print/image down toward a black-- might result in a more 'impactful' [gawd! I cringe at that term 'impact;' its used so randomly, more often than not more casually than critically] image.
Nevertheless, John, good image.
Did they have a tasting room? For the "ethanol," that is?
Nicely composed and looks great in black and white.

Thanks! This place is, in essence, just a giant still--sorry, no tasting room. Law requires them to mix a little gasoline into the product to make it undrinkable.
Many of our area farmers like to sell their corn there because they will take corn a bit wet without a dock.
I didn’t use any filters to get the image, just my Sony a6000 with a 55-210 at f 9, 1/1000, ISO 100 with a bright, sunny Indiana winter sky. I’m attaching the color version.
Thanks for the thumbs, Jack.
Great capture, John. I loved the B&W until I saw the color image, I like the white steam cloud against the beautiful blue sky a tiny bit more.

Thanks, Joe. I’m torn between the two.
