Have been waiting patiently for the Pixma Pro deals and figured BF would be a good time but have come up empty. Is anyone aware of special deals coming up on either of these printers, particularly the 1000? Thanks for any help.
Seems to me that Canon wanted to bite into Epson's market so, using rebates, gave away the Pro 100. Now that they have established a market share and replaced the printer with the Pro 200, they don't need to pay us rebates. It may also be that there is a supply chain break down (covid?) and Canon can't make enough.
Good luck!!

Interesting, thanks for your thoughts.
When the Pro 100 appeared, the rebate was $300 plus. It came with 50 sheets of big paper and a full set of ink. I figured they paid me nearly $100 to take it. If finally broke. The second one had a smaller rebate but, counting paper and ink, they still paid me $50 to take it. I was even able to take the partially empty tanks out of the old one and put them in the new one.
They have come out OK in the end. I've bought a lot of ink. When ever one tank is low, I ask Amazon to send me that color.

Yep, apparently the days of the “free” Canon printer’s are gone for the present. I was trying to decide whether to buy a set of cartridges for mine or just buy a new one, but I waited too long. I have a friend who’s a part time pro who prints his own. He literally bought a stack of them when they were dirt cheap - has them sitting in boxes in his studio.

For all interested, I contacted B&H and here is their response;
I'm sorry, we don't have any information about further Canon rebates, but they seem to offer them at least once or twice a year--we just administer them, so Canon designs the whole thing and gives it to us. I would think there will be an offer like this within the next 2-3 months, but I don't have any knowledge of such an offer right now.
So I guess we will have to monitor this after Christmas.
