I must have gotten at least 10 phone calls from Apple alleging that someone had hacked my iCloud account. Has anyone else received these calls or is it another attack
If you get an unsolicited or suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from Apple, just hang up. You can report fraudulent tech support calls to the Federal Trade Commission (U.S. only) at
www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov or to your local law enforcement agency.Aug 26, 2020

I learned years ago from Apple that MacKeeper may be a good company, but they plant a virus on your computer, then send a notice that you have a virus and they will take it off. When I see this I call Apple Support and they remove the virus in a few seconds.
Perhaps you have a planned virus.

Search this online - apple I cloud hacking scam 2020. When sufficiently concerned, I research and find a direct contact with the company. Usually, I just delete or hang up.
They were so persistent I had to block the number

I don't even have an Apple device. Sounds like a big time scam. Thanks all for the quick respons
I still think you must have a 'planned virus'. I don't know how to remove any virus so I depend on Apple Support to save me. But if you have a 'Geek' look at it I would ask them if it could be planted onto your computer.
They say Apples have less virus attacks so I when I see MacKeeper on my screen I don't use it 'til it is removed. This is one reason I switched from a PC years ago.

LOL, same here. I used to get those calls and purposely stall them (because I enjoy messing with these people). I guess they finally realized that my phone number was just slowing their operation down and took me off the list. It was fun while it lasted.
I occasionally receive them, along with emails.
Bogus.
Phishing.

Yes. Scam.
Also get them shortly after doing anything on Amazon. Somehow they got my phone number and detect my Amazon login. They claim someone purchased an iPhone on my account. Whichever option you might choose furthers their scam. Hang up and check the source directly. No orders.

It is dangerous to respond in any way. Hang up.

I highly doubt either Apple or Microsoft will call you. More likely, if there is a real issue with your account, they will lock you out of it and send you an email or letter or text message with instructions to call them!
Did they address you by the name on your account, in standard, American business English with a broadcast-like accent?
If they ask for money, passwords, account numbers, or other personal information, it’s a scammer.
I got a call too,so I ask to speak to someone who can talk "queens English " lots of background noise ,I kept saying "say again?"to anything anyone said. No more calls.

Also a good probability that they simply use random phone numbers, based on the probability of how many people may have an Apple account, they'll find someone who will take the bait.
