Thanksgiving's Greetings fellow UHH members and I hope this post finds you all safe, in good health and good spirits. This is what we do on Thanksgiving, feast on California spiny lobsters, Panulirus interruptus, also known locally as "bugs"..........chase & Ms. chase
We use hoop nets to catch 'em

Looks good. Eat the eels too? I use to dive for the east coast Maine lobsters off the Jersey coast. Still have my dive gear, maybe again soon. Enjoy your holidays.
looks good.
but what you have there is a really big crayfish, in my opinion.
what you need is Humerus Americanus - a REAL lobster :)

Interesting that there are no claws.
Yummy - almost worth skipping the turkey.

No better eating that steak and lobster. And to top it off, you got the right beer in the frig; Pacifico!
Now that’s a SoCal tradition I can get behind😎

Thank you for taking a look and your comments. It seems that some of you are not familiar with the California spiny lobster vs. the Maine type so here's more information:
What is the difference between California spiny lobster and Maine lobster?
In common with all spiny lobsters, the California species has two large antennae, but no large front claws. Although spiny lobsters lack front claws, pound for pound they tend to have more meat in their bodies than their New England counterparts. Their generous tail meat is sweet and dense, yet still delicate in texture!

Wow does that look like a feast. Would like to catch a late night flight to your place. I'll sit on the pool deck with the dogs.
Damn that last shot looks so good!
