Can anyone point to a valid scientfic study proving the efficacy of masks preventing the transmission of disease

No, of course not. It is a grand hoax that wearing masks reduces the transmission of germs, infection, and disease. Even surgical doctors are part of the conspiracy. They wear masks during surgery only to fool people, and keep the hoax alive.
Ask any surgeon.

Look at the Marine study from Paris Island. Look at the CDC studies on masks and flu. Look at the Danish study on masks and covid. Oh, that's right, that study hasn't been published because it says that people wearing masks got sick at a higher rate than those without, so it is too "controversial" to publish. By the way, that is the same thing that the marine study showed, and as you should know, marines get total compliance unlike the general population.

And then there is the study by MIT and University of California that showed that mask wearing works, that is, that is what their preliminary study showed that they released. Then the counties that they studied had huge spikes and they had to withdraw their report because it turned out not to be true.

You want to blindly follow what we are being told like a sheep, you go right ahead, but the science shows that masks aren't working, which should be easy to tell, since the states with the most strict lockdowns are still having major spikes in cases.

It isn't upper respiratory infections that surgeons wear masks for, and the reason doctors are wearing masks for covid is because if they don't they will be shut down.

If Ever A Photograph From 2020 Deserved A Pulitzer Prize...

… this one, taken by photojournalist Caroline Brehman on Saturday, November 14th during that crybaby sandbox gathering in Washington, D.C. brilliantly sums up the year 2020 in all its dysfunctional fascism and willful disregard for the American community.

Why is it impossible to have an intelligent conversation with you?

Dentists are also part of the conspiracy, which originated in a pizza shop in Baltimore where Democrats were eating babies brought to them by aliens from the planet Wacko.

What a moronic post. We doctors are wearing masks because "if we don't we will be shut down"???? That is just plain stupid Trumpspeak. I wear a mask - and require my patients to wear a mask - to gain a little bit on the chances of them and me dying from a contagious deadly disease. I also wipe down all commonly touched surfaces in the exam room between each patient, even knowing that MOST transmission is through virus-containing aerosols in the air, because we all need whatever improvement in the odds that we can get.

Masks are not perfect. But they help.

A good review is at: http://sciencebasedmedicine.org/do-masks-work/

It is a moronic post, not worth serious responses.

Imagine elevator #1 with two people in it. One has covid but doesn't know it. Neither is wearing a mask.

Imagine elevator #2, two people, one infected, but both are masked.

In which elevator is the healthy person at lower risk of getting infected?

Which elevator would you prefer?

Forget studies. Use common sense.....

You can lead the morons to the water but you can't make them drink

unless Trump's kool-aid has been added to it.

I totally agree, and to make matters worse, masks make your breath smell bad! Exhale from your mouth and inhale thru your nose and that proves it.

Keeping 6 feet apart is a sly form of birth-control... well but, that is a subject for a different post.
