I was wondering, is there anyone out there thinking about buying the New Fuji XS 10 when it comes out? From all the YouTube reviews, what do you personally think about it? Is it worth the upgrade? Is there something I’m not seeing or is this a dream come true for a small easy carry everywhere Camera? I’ve never owned a Fuji! From what they say, the image quality is excellent!! What’s you all’s take? I’m sort of leaning towards purchasing it!!

I been using Fuji cameras for years and currently have an XT-2 and XT-4. I'm very happy with both cameras and overall happy with Fuji. When I made the decision to buy my first Fuji camera back in 2013 it was because of the available lenses. Fuji makes good glass and as far as I'm concerned that's 1st priority.

I hear a fair amount of praise about the quality of the JPEGs from the Fuji cameras. I can't help with that as I don't shoot JPEGs with any camera. There is an issue with Fuji if you shoot and process raw files. Fuji uses an entirely unique/proprietary CFA over their sensors that they call X-Trans and the XS10 is a latest generation X-Trans sensor camera. Most raw processing software now supports X-Trans but there are still some notable holdouts. If you're a fan of DXO PL for example you won't be able to process your Fuji raw files. The other issue with X-Trans is that it's a trickier demosaicing job and as such there's more variation in results between the various software choices available.

Fuji cameras come with a free copy of SilkyPix Developer and Capture One Express.

I too switched from Nikon to Fuji a few years back & have the XT10 & XT2. I used to shoot only in RAW, but the jpegs are so darn good I don’t anymore. And I detest sitting at the computer processing. If your thinking of switching why not rent one a weekend & play with it.

I switched from Nikon to Fuji about 3 years ago. If I didn't already have an X-H1, X-Pro3, X-T20, and 100V, I for one would be buying the new camera. I believe the sensor is the same as in the X-T4 and the camera also has IBIS, which is a very big plus! Please note the XS10 isn't weather resistant. Also, the external controls are not the same as other Fuji cameras that I own, but from what I can tell from the early reviews I don't think that would be an issue, especially if you aren't a current Fuji owner. Fuji lenses are superb with lots of choices. Also, 3rd party lens manufacturers are starting to offer alternatives that are normally priced below Fuji lenses. After nearly 40 years of using Nikon equipment, I'm still glad I made the switch!

I thought about it but decided against. However, reasons against might be your reason for. This is the first Fuji body with PASM dial. The operating controls will seem familiar to non/Fuji users. Those who prefer the “retro” controls on other Fuji’s may not care for the x-S10.

If weight and size are important check out the X-E3! Same lenses available. Even if the sensor is not the latest version it is VERY good. Or wait until first quarter 2021 an X-E4.

The main reason I switched from Canon to Fuji were the analogue controls. It is like using an old film camera but with all the modern digital tech. They are a joy to use. If that isn't an issue for you and you like using PASM then I'm sure you will enjoy the results.

I switched from Sony to Fuji 2.5 years ago. Happy I did! I switched for weight (handicap with leg braces so weigh is important), glass and the price of glass, the easy to use menu, and the quality of jpegs. I have a V100, T4, and S10. I traded a X-T30 and XPro3 for the S10 so I would have ISIB. I needed the ISIB as I have tremors. The S10 is wonderful and easy to use. I shoot aperture priority mostly and manual. Only use auto for family shots. Very happy with S10 build quality, ease of use, and quality of photos straight out of camera. I have used it with 16-80mm zoom and the 50mm f1. I did not care for the filter camera setting photos. MW

Thank You for that response and input!! I’m looking strongly at it! I’m like you, I don’t want to carry a heavy camera around for a long time! I’ve seen the image quality on the videos and photos and I don’t think it can be beat for what I’d use it for!! I’m not into sports or super fast shooting!!!

I shoot landscape, travel and street. Only require some speed to focus and the s10 focuses quickly. I'm using the 50mm f2 and the 35mm f1.4 for walk around lenses as they are light weight. Mike
