Very nice image!!!!
Is the mine above ground?
Good shot! Where is this one please? I’ve been to Honister, which is still quite active and has that wonderful gateway to the pass, and seen some others but I don’t recognise this view.
to mangelsphoto, yes; all the welsh slate mines were above ground,

Than you very much!!
On this side of the pond they call them quarries, that's why I ask.

Well lately they were, but earlier ones were underground. In the ‘sixties I was taken down a working slate mine at Corris, mid Wales. They blew twice a day, just before lunch and at the end of the day. We went down just before the lunchtime blow. A guy known as Storky (due to his height) was too tall to work in the mine so he had the job of splitting the slate at ground level.
Nice capture - like the colours.
A bit of research tells us this is the Port Dinorwic quarry, which is now the Welsh Slate Museum. The scar in the hill behind is Vivien Quarry, part of the Dinorwic Quarry. I’d like to go, just to see that super steam crane!
Looks like an interesting place. Seems to have quite a lot of green light in the mix.
