MY time in Vietnam convinced me of the REAL value of those that Carried the load, always doing the grunt work, getting less credit than they deserved, and sacrificing with little complaint. I was a navy Hospital corpsman over there, but Yes!! I’m referring to those of the United States ARMY. RJM. Happy Veterans Day to ALL American vets, but with a special shout-out to those unsung heroes, our U.S. ARMY vets..

I see your sentiments but my post was for the U.S. Marines birthday, which is November 10 and should not be confused with November 11, Veterans Day. I agree that the Army doesn't get enough credit. I am a Coast Guard veteran. Many time the Coast Guard doesn't even get mentioned by newscasters when citing veterans day. They simply point out the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

So why don’t we give credit where credit is due and celebrate June 14th as ARMY birthday and have a cake and everything? We have and always have had a great need for all of our branches of OUR military, to go along with the joke that ONE IS BETTER than the rest is foolish!!...... RJM

Totally agree! My post was directed at the Marines because I happen to have several friends who are Marines. I had a number of friends who were Army but unfortunately several of them died In Vietnam. Come June 14 I will be glad to honor them.

Semper Fi Brother (Sgt. Steve Adamczyk 1966-1970). And for Veterans Day, "Thank you for your service".
