If you are reviewing them in-camera, you should note that image review (at least with Nikon, and I would presume that others are similar) scrolls through a number of different screens, usually with the Up and Down arrows on the main controller. Which of these screens are displayed can be changed via a menu option, but generally there is one screen called "None." It displays just the image, with no other information. Other choices might be screens that show your images with other information at the top or bottom, but nothing superimposed on the image itself. Try scrolling up and down to see if you fins a review image more to your liking. If not, find the menu choice that lets you change what is displayed.
EDIT: The D810 definitely offers the ability to customize your review screen options. Your manual has the details.

Thank You. I looked through the manual for over half an hour, I am not saying the info is not in the manual just I could not find it. Just three months short of the age of ninety so I guess there will be much more info in the manual that I won't be able to find. REJ

Ok...here we go.
As indicated...while reviewing an image, use the Up and Down arrows on the Multi Selector to scroll through a number of screen format options that you can use for reviewing images. Several should be enabled. Wherever you stop is the format that you will see until you change ot (whether accidentally or on purpose ). If you don't find one that you like, proceed to the next step.
In the Playback Menu (the first one), the fourth option is called Playback Display Options. Use the right arrow on your control button to select that, then note that there are six choices (there is a second page). Check the ones you think might be of interest, and those will be the ones that you can scroll through when reviewing an image. I have them all checked, but usually just leave it on the "None" choice, because that gives me the biggest image to look at without distraction. If you do want to see one or more of the others, you can scroll right there.
Let me know if this helps or if you run into other snags.
By the way...if you do a green button reset, you will lose any changes you make here.
