Here are some images of a chess set I got a few years ago from the local Goodwill Store.
I don't know what the pieces are made of. They are heavy and made of some kind of stone, ceramic material?
The board is made of wood and the same kind of material the pieces are made of.
The pieces seem to depict Conquistadors that are white and Aztecs or Incas that are green.
The board has two sides that have slide out drawers to hold the pieces.
I collect chess sets and have never seen one like this before. Anyone that has any info or clues about this one, please let me know.

Very interesting and beautiful set. Extra special with the matching board. I have a only couple chess sets. My favorite is one several people probably have, the Avon bottles from back in the 70s. My mother made me a hooked rug chess board for them. I also recently obtained one that came out during the most recent US Presidential campaign. There were probably quite a few made and advertised as limited, each with a numbered certificate of authenticity. I just had to have one for the humor and to say I had it. All the pieces are political figures from the two major parties. I do not think either set is worth a lot.

I bought a very similar set in 1981 while in Mexico. At the time I think you could buy them for about $30. My set was made exactly the same, materials, board with drawers. The only difference was in the shape of the pieces. As I remember it, I think they were pretty common, we saw them in several shops. I have no idea if they are still sold or if they have appreciated.
