I think it is wonderful that you are going to documenting step by step. When it is finished it will be grand and hard to believe that it started out so distressed.

Thanks Carol...

Great set. I missed some of the others, is your intent that she go to sea again?

Sadly no, it will be an onshore display/museum...like a lot of this type of restoration, the costs to get it sailing again are astronomical..

Wonderful! Will she remain on land for the rest of her life Ron? Wondering if they'll replace the copper sheathing? I guess that'll be too expensive. Great project. Cheers JohnR

She's still on the floating barge that she came out on John and yes, she will be an onshore display/museum..I doubt the copper will be replaced due to the massive costs involved...they did replace it on the Cutty Sark but they had massive amounts of support, money wise...

Please read Part 1 first, it will help you to understand what the ship is all about.
A few more shots from yesterday's photo shoot.
Apart from the top deck (outside) there are three other decks within the ship.
The entire hull up to just over the water line was clad in copper with a horse hair underlay, she must have looked magnificent in her day.
I took shots yesterday and haven't really made a dent in what I want to do.

great shots, ron...the restorers are going to be busy for a long time i would think.

Thanks Merry, yes a very long time, the ship arrived in Adelaide back in 2014...the year of its 150th birthday...
