I promised a UHH member an illustration of false narratives. Here it is.

"The Wage Gap"

Imagine John Lennon's 'Nutopia'. In Nutopia there are 3 salary schedules.

Schedule 1 jobs pay men 2000 per month and women 2200 per month. Women make up 80% of schedule 1 job workers.

Schedule 2 jobs pay 4000 per month to men and 4400 per month to women. Women are half of schedule 2 workers.

Schedule 3 jobs pay 6000 per month for men and 6600 per month to women. Women are 20% of schedule 3 workers.

EVERY woman is paid 10% more than men in EVERY job. Re-read it.

BUT (80)(2200) + (50)(4400) + (20)(6600) = 528000 per month for every 150 women, 3520 per average woman.

and (20)(2000) + (50)(4000) + (80)(6000) = 720000 per month for every 150 men, 4800 per average man.

The media and logic-challenged leftists would suggest this shows a WAGE gap. It does not. Every woman makes more than every man in the same job in Nutopia. Women are paid MORE in every job.

The pay shows a training gap, a choice gap, or a preference gap, not a discrimination aimed towards women.

Similar analysis shows Affirmative Action INFLATES the minority college dropout rate, decreasing the numbers of minorities graduating college.

When I've suggested a lot of activist narratives are based in emotion and not in fact, I've done so with concrete evidence.

The same thing is true of the police use of force narrative that is causing the current riots and protests. It is what happens when you look at data without seeing all of the information. That's why it is so important to make sure that you have complete statistics before attempting statistics analysis. And it's why it is important to make sure that there isn't bias in the research method as well.
